About the Highway of Heroes
During the war in Afghanistan, Canadian casualties were transported along Highway 401 to Toronto. This later became known as the “Highway of Heroes”. The military museums along this corridor showcase Canada’s proud military history from the 19th century to the present day.
Come see everything from great fortresses to running tanks to a Halifax bomber to giant radar dishes and more! Excitement awaits at each of the museums. Spend a weekend or a whole summer exploring the wonders that our museums have to offer.
